Telekom: We won’t start eSIM by the end of the year. We also count on iPhones
The operator says openly that customers are not expecting news this year.
Telekom also plans to launch the electronic SIM cards launched by Orange yesterday. But this year it will not be.
“We plan to deploy eSIM in the future and are currently testing it at the transnational level in the Deutsche Telekom Group. By the end of 2018 eSIM will not be available in our offer yet, ”said Telekom spokesman Michal Korec for Živé.sk.
In Orange 1 model, another without guarantee
Orange officially launched eSIM support for Samsung Galaxy Watch 46mm, but it can also work on other devices – for example, on new iPhones, despite the fact that Orange has not yet completed service certification.
Telekom says it will only talk about the supported devices after eSIM deployment. But it also counts on iPhones.
“We will only be able to decide on individual facilities and their support at deployment. Of course, with Apple devices we count on new technologies, VoLTE technology is a good example, ”said Korec.

O2 does not say whether eSIM will start
Whether he plans to launch both eSIM and O2, the operator has not specified. In his opinion for our portal, he expressed only vaguely. “In the event of any news from O2, we will inform our customers in time,” said company spokeswoman Tereza Molnár.
